The following are some ways to determine whether polymer water-based resin materials are solidified:

1. Observe the appearance: the cured resin usually has obvious appearance changes, such as deepening color, becoming opaque or appearing shiny. However, this method may not be accurate enough, because some resins do not change their appearance significantly before and after curing.

2. Touch hardness: Gently touch the surface of the material with your hand or a tool, if you feel that the material has hardened, it may mean that it has been cured. However, this also requires a certain amount of experience, as different resins may have different hardness after curing.

3. Perform simple mechanical tests: such as bending, stretching or compression tests on small samples, if the material has a certain strength and toughness, it may have been cured.

4. Check the viscosity: the uncured resin usually has a certain viscosity, and the viscosity will decrease or disappear after curing. You can touch the surface of the material with your fingers or other objects to feel the change in its viscosity.

5. Measure temperature: If the resin will release heat during the curing process, then you can use a thermometer to measure the temperature of the material. When the temperature no longer rises and gradually returns to the ambient temperature, it may indicate that the curing reaction has been completed. However, not all resins release heat when curing, so this method is not universally applicable.

6. Reference curing time: Understand the curing time usually required for the resin material, and observe and test after the specified time. However, the curing time may be affected by factors such as ambient temperature and humidity.

7. Professional instrument testing: Use some professional instruments for analysis, such as differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). This method can determine the degree of curing of the resin more accurately, but it requires the corresponding equipment and expertise.


It should be noted that the specific judgment method may vary depending on the type of resin, formulation and application scenario. In practical applications, it is best to refer to the technical specifications of resin materials or consult the manufacturer to obtain the most accurate method and standard for judging curing. At the same time, ensure that the storage environment meets the requirements to avoid the resin curing when it is not expected. If there is doubt about the curing of the resin, it is recommended to conduct a small range of tests or experiments to determine whether it meets the requirements for use.
