What should be paid attention to when storing thermoplastic acrylic resin?

Thermoplastic acrylic resin should pay attention to the following matters during storage:

Ambient temperature: It should be stored in a stable temperature environment, and the ideal storage temperature is generally between 5℃ and 35℃. If the temperature is too high, the resin may become soft, sticky and even degrade, which will affect its performance. If the temperature is too low, the resin may become brittle and crack in use.

Environmental humidity: Thermoplastic acrylic resin is sensitive to humidity and should be stored in a dry environment, and the relative humidity should be controlled at 40%-60%. When the humidity is too high, it is easy for the resin to absorb the moisture in the air, leading to caking and hydrolysis, which reduces the quality and performance of the resin.

Avoid light: direct sunlight and strong ultraviolet radiation should be avoided, because light may trigger the photooxidation reaction of the resin, leading to yellowing of the resin and degradation of its performance. Therefore, it is best to use shading materials to cover the warehouse where thermoplastic acrylic resin is stored, or store it in a dark place.

Storage container: It is very important to choose the appropriate storage container. Generally, it is recommended to use a well-sealed metal bucket or plastic bucket to store thermoplastic acrylic resin, so as to prevent the resin from being oxidized when it comes into contact with air, and at the same time avoid impurities from being mixed in. If the resin needs to be stored for a long time, it can also be considered to fill the container with inert gas such as nitrogen to further isolate oxygen and protect the performance of the resin.

Fire and explosion protection: Thermoplastic acrylic resin is generally flammable. Fireworks should be strictly prohibited in storage places, and corresponding fire-fighting equipment should be equipped. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid mixing it with flammable and explosive materials to prevent fire or explosion accidents.

Classified storage: different types and batches of thermoplastic acrylic resins should be classified and labeled to facilitate management and use and avoid confusion and misuse. In addition, the principle of first-in first-out should be followed, and the earlier batch of resin should be given priority to ensure its reasonable use within the warranty period.
